Footprints of Faith

footprintsRead 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 1:2

As I walked along the beach, I noticed various size footprints in the wet sand. Sandpiper tracks crisscrossed larger seagull prints. Small children’s footprints alongside those made by their parents. Some were perfect while others were haphazard since many birds had scurried across the sand.

I stopped and watched as the tide swiftly came closer. White-capped waves struck the beach. As they receded, the footprints disappeared. The sand was smooth again, as if no one had ever walked on it.

Everything we go through in life leaves footprints on those who observe us. What kind of legacy will we leave? Will memories of us be lasting, or will they be easily washed away?

Wouldn’t it be a blessing to others if we leave behind a legacy of our faith? Memories of how we held on to God no matter what circumstances we faced. God’s light shining through us can make a profound difference—a powerful legacy.

When the final tide washes us into eternity, may our faith leave memorable footprints—ones that will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of friends and family.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that the way I live my life will bring others closer to You.

It’s never too late to start working on the legacy you will leave behind. Thirty three years ago, at the age of fifty when I began a personal relationship with Jesus, He gave me the gift of writing poetry. This was all new to me at that time, but since then I have been writing devotions and poems regularly for different publications.

I want you to know that regardless of your age or background, once you develop a relationship with God, there are so many different ways that He can use you. Even words of encouragement can touch people in life changing ways.

May God bless each of you every new day……..Fran
